Afrika Islam learnt the art of mixing and producing under the guidance of Afrika Bambaataa. He was a DJ and MC for the legendary Rock Steady Crew and was also a brief member of the World Famous Supreme Team before moving to Los Angeles where he became good friends with Ice T.
They teamed up with Melle Mel and Bronx (BX) Style Bob to form Afrika & the Zulu Kings and this was their debut release on Posse Records out of New York about the cars they liked and owned.
